our vacation time in Valdivia, Chile

We spent two and a half weeks in Valdivia Chile.  From December 12th thru January 3rd.  We celebrated our 7th anniversary, Christmas and New Year's while we were there.  I am going to try to attempt to convey the highlights and lowlights of our trip and time there and how our time went.

Highlights:
*meeting the missionary family who is living in Valdivia and ministering there (they are from the States and have 3 small children like us-6yrs, 3yrs, and 8 mos).  We spent a good amount of time with them and our children just loved playing with their children.
*getting to know the Church that meets there and meeting new friends from that congregation.
*getting to go to the beach two times -even on Christmas day
*celebrating our anniversary(a big thanks to Jacob and Elizabeth for babysitting for us while we went out to a nice restarant by ourselves), Christmas Chilean style, and New Year's Eve
*doing some tourist things-including going to the Mall, shopping, touring a submarine, seeing the fish market downtown, doing a riverboat cruise, and looking in lots of differnt shops, and YES eating sushi at a resturant (I didn't think I liked sushi, but I do if it's all cooked.....YUM!)
*living in a large house with Jacob and Elizabeth.......we felt very very blessed to be with them more.
*have WIFI in the house, a comfy bed to sleep on, a larger washer AND dryer machine, and MUCH MUCH cooler weather.
*Our time in Chile was very blessed

Lowlights:
*Nathan loosing his wallet in a taxi (it had ~$60 U.S. dollars equvilant of Chilean pesos in it along with his drivers lisence, credit card, and debit card), which we never found.
*Liam fell off the window ledge which really was only a two foot drop, but he landed on his left shoulder in a way that hurt him.  We took him to the doctor and then got an x-ray.  The good news is he has no broken bones, the bad news is we think it's more than just a bruise.  He is still complaining about it.  Prayers on his behalf and for our wisdom to know what to do for him would be greatly appreicated.
