a difficult week but things are looking up now

2/8/15 Day 88
Last night was a rough one between the torrential downpour of rain that came into our house again and the restless sleep that Liam had I was thankful for the morning.  This morning when Liam woke up he still had a slight fever but after breakfast he was just fine.  Water had come into the church building as well so Nathan worked some this morning on getting that cleaned up and we packed some more of our stuff in suitcases.  For lunch we did an asado with Jacob and Elizabeth.  This evening we were going to go to the South zone for church however Liam slept from 2pm until-he wouldn't wake up for supper and I could tell he felt warm again.  We didn't go to church then and by 9pm I took his temperature and it was 104 degrees and Nathan quick gave him a cool shower to bring down the temperature fast.  It didn't help too much.  By 10pm we had Brenda phone Elizabeth for us so she could help me take Liam to the hospital.  We were there at the hospital waiting and waiting and waiting.  There were lots of kids there with high fevers......we weren't done until 1am.  They gave him fever reducing meds and said that he had a double ear infection and one ear was really red.  My baby who was with a very high fever and very sleepy and a worried mommy......a night I won't forget very soon and I don't ever want to repeat!  It was so very difficult!

2/9/15 Day 89
Today we thought we were going to move to the farm (la chacra) by Juan's house but I guess the other family isn't moving out until today so we will move tomorrow.  Liam is still very sick and without constant fever reducing meds he's still running 103 degree temp.  Exhausted, worried and emotional all describe me very well at the moment.  This afternoon Nathan saw Romiro at the grocery store and he said they weren't moving until Tuesday, so maybe we won't move until wednesday.  The stress of it all is wearing on me.

2/10/15 Day 90
Today we spent packing the last of our things and taking care of a sick baby.  This morning he still had a high fever.  By the afternoon though he seemed to be doing a little better.  This evening we rented Charlotte's web from the movie store and watched it with the kids.

2/11/15 Day 91
This morning at 10am Chito's truck was supposed to come to load up all our stuff and move to la chacra, however it was closer to lunch time that they came.  We got to la chacra and Romiro's family still wasn't gone yet.  We had ~3 awkward hours of moving our stuff in while they moved their stuff out.  We probably should have waited until tomorrow to move but we didn't know.  I was exhausted and upset going to bed tonight.  The family that had lived here previously left the home very dirty and in major disrepair.  Plus we have no washing machine now, no hot running water, no care to get groceries and I fell asleep to the smell of sewage outside our bedroom window and tears.  This feels very hard!

2/12/15 Day 92
I woke up to tears and the weight of a dirty house and a little boy who still is very fussy and wanting to be held all of the time.  AMAZING things happened today though.  Claudia, Elizabeth, and Brenda came to help clean the house and after they were done I felt like I could breathe again.  It was definently a labor of love.  Juan also brought me to the store so I stocked up on groceries for the next couple of days.  We also took showers today all of which feels AMAZING.  Today Nathan helped Jacob and Juan clean out the big pool in preparation for the young adult camp that is happening this weekend.

2/13/15 Day 93
The young adult camp started today and today is Liam's first day of feeling better and not being so fussy all of the time.  Today Nathan worked on cleaning the pool and cutting down a tree and we had asado with Raymond this evening.

2/14/15 Day 94
The speaker that came for the young adult camp has an 8 year old daughter and a 5year old son, so Lydia and Jayvin are loving having some kids around to play with.  This afternoon we went to town to buy groceries and walk around a little bit to talk and regroup from so many stressful days.

2/15/15 Day 95
This morning everyone met in the central zone church building for worship.  Lydia and I spent the majority of the service crying.  Lydia wanted to go home (where is our home exactly) to snuggle with me and I was feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and inadequate.  Oh the weight of so many stressful days.  This evening we talked to Juan about moving back to the apartment in town and coming to work at his house everyday.  The house has some major repair work that needs to be done to it and on Wedesday night Nathan slept in the house and woke up the next morning to red, hurting, swollen eyes from mold that is in the bedroon.  He then slept Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights outside in our tent.  This situation is definently not working for our family life.

2/16/15 Day 96
Today we moved back to the apartment in town and unpacked everything yet again.  We spent the day regrouping and relaxing from a very stressful week.

2/17/15 Day 97
Today is a holiday here and some of the young adults from the camp are still here.  We all ate lunch together and hung out this afternoon.

2/18/15 Day 98
This morning Nathan rode bike out to Juan's house with Jayvin to work.  Juan came and got the rest of us ~11am and we made asado for lunch and then were in charge of cleaning the bathrooms and helping with a group that had rented the facilties for a birthday party.

2/19/15 Day 99
This morning I did errands with the kids while Nathan worked at Juan's house.  This afternoon Nathan went back to Juan's house to clean the pool and he took Lydia with him so she could swim.  I took a nap with the boys and then when Nathan got back we did a few more errands around town in preparation for this weekend.

2/20/15 Day 100
Today Nathan worked at Juan's house for a few short hours this morning and then we packed up our bags for our trip.  We are leaving this afternoon for Las Grutas/Sierra Grande with the ILPA team.  Our family will stay in Sierra Grande with the missionary family there for Saturday and Sunday.  Miguel and Angela live and do mission work in Sierra Grande and last time we were here we really got to know them well.  We are looking forward to reconnecting with them again.  Then on Sun or Monday we will take a bus back  to Las Grutas and meet up with the ILPA team.  They are then leaving to go home on Monday and our family is planning on staying in Las Grutas until Wednesday to enjoy the beach.  We would appreciate your prayers for health and safe travels for all as we spend a couple of days traveling.
